Sketchbooks

I actually fucking hate this blog business, it really just makes me want to learn. You cannot thoroughly follow through with any kind of thought process because the Internet is just one fucking massive resource of opinions, most of which are either flawed or just totally lacking in any type of actual intelligence and are a composite of third, fourth, fifth hand information, suited to the thieves own needs, and a result of their own inhabitily to produce original thought.

Perhaps if I was a philosopher or a writer this blog would serve a valid purpose, as their whole game involves other people peering over their shoulder, considering their choice of words and laughing at grammatical mistakes or ill founded opinions.

This just seems like when you did maths in school where you get points off if you don't show your working. A blog that explains my process takes out one of the fundamental aspects of art which is the impact of the unexplained final piece. We all know Guernica was commissioned by the Spanish Republic and it is in reference to war, but Picasso knew that by placing next to it a detailed explanation of every element and description of the influence of every pictorial representation that its meaning would be lost. Look beyond the image for meaning, or stare at the fucking painting, its up to the viewer, but I don't think that the creation of art should be handcuffed to constant explanation. A magic trick loses its awe when its explained. Its not that I want to keep art from people, on the contrary, I want everyone to experience it, but I'd prefer it made them think, than match up intention with representation.
